 Breaking the Academic Stigma Surrounding Pop Culture Studies (byu.edu)

    Professor Joe Sarofsky, who believes that popular culture should be taken seriously and that students will find value in their college-level studies. I chose this text because this text tells me the importance of learning about the value of popular culture in a university context that would be more open to discussion of learn.

Summary of Pop Culture Studies Website-Batman Crucified: Religion and Modern Superhero Comic Books by Bruce David Forbes

     This article discusses the transition of comics readers from children to teenagers and adults. The article explains the words for religion, as well as what religion is. The article believes that religion has given some words to express the meaning of superheroes and the fight against evil forces. And because superheroes become humanized, people can easily recognize the characteristics that resemble the image of God, the same as Jesus. I think the expression reflects the role of religion in people's search for meaning, which is good vs evil.
